Caelie Wilkes, a stay-at-home mom, found out that the beloved succulent she has been taking care of for the past two years is nothing but a fake plastic plant attached to styrofoam with glue and sand. When Caelie decided to switch her plan to a better vase, she didn’t realize she was in for a big surprise.

Caelie Wilkes felt betrayed when she discovered that the succulent she has been watering for the past two years is just a fake plastic plant.
“I loved my succulent so much.”
Caelie Wilkes shared her story on her Facebook page, writing, “I’ve had this beautiful succulent for about two years now.”. It was so lovely. The leaves were full, and the color was stunning. It was in my kitchen window. My succulent had a watering plan, and if anyone tried to water it, I would get so defensive because I wanted to take good care of it. My succulent was my favorite.”
Upon pulling it from the container, I discover that it’s sitting on Styrofoam with sand glued to the top.”
Caelie made the shocking discovery when she transferred the plant to a new vase. After spending hours caring for this plant, she discovered it was a fake. “I put so much love into it! I washed its leaves. Tried to keep it looking its best, and it is made of plastic. and it’s plastic! How did I not know that? When I take it out of the box, I find it sitting on Styrofoam with sand glued to the top!”

Caelie shared pictures of the fake plant on social media, and it looks real until you take it out of the vase. Caelie wrote, “I feel like these last two years have been a lie.”
