Divorced For 28 Years, Husband Still Mows His Wife’s Lawn And The Heartwarming Story Behind

It can be difficult to cope with the divorce of your parents, but this woman never felt the pinch because her parents were kind to each other for her sake.

In this regard, Codie LaChelle McPhate shared a surprisingly positive story. She explained how the way her parents handled their divorce changed her life. Through a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the woman showcased her parents’ beautiful relationship. However, the story quickly went viral on social media and many people shared this heartfelt post. It was a picture of her dad mowing her mother’s lawn. Her parents had been divorced for 28 years. She described how amazing it was to watch their relationship remain strong despite the divorce, even to the point that her father would mow his ex-wife’s lawn when she needed it mowed.

Codie felt blessed to have parents who understood how their divorce would affect her, and their constant support helped her navigate the new phase of her life. In the post on Facebook, Codie demonstrated that her parents were still thoughtful toward each other after the split, which makes her feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

“My mom has bad knees, and my stepfather works out of town. My siblings asked me, ‘Why does your dad mow mom’s lawn? ’ I told them, ‘Because she needed help, and he knew she couldn’t do it herself, so he did.'” , Codie explained. Her father had come to see her while on vacation and that was when he decided to help his ex-wife with her chores.

Codie feels she has carried her parents’ positive and healthy behavior into adulthood, which suggests she greatly benefited from their amicable relationship after their divorce.

Codie said, “This is co-parenting.”. I am lucky to have 4 parents who respect each other, and know that, at the end of the day, what matters is that you teach your children (Even if they are 32 years old) how to treat people, and how to love your family, no matter how it came about.

Those reading the story praised her parents’ decision to put their children first. Other people shared their experiences of divorce and how difficult it was for them, while others chimed in with co-parenting stories of their own. There were even calls for the family to go on Ellen DeGeneres, as the famous comedian and talk-show host is known for praising Good Samaritans on her show. A simple act of kindness goes a long way.
